Veterinarian Dr. Belinda Eckhoff

Veterinarian in Birmingham, AL - Dr. Belinda EckhoffDr. Belinda Eckhoff (affectionately known to her family, friends, and clients as Dr. BE) is a native of Moody, Alabama. She acquired her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM) in 2008. Prior to attending TUSVM, she received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science/Veterinary Technology from Snead State community College and became a licensed veterinary technician in the state of Alabama in 2002 TUSVM hired her as a licensed veterinary technician the year of her graduation where she quickly became a big fan of the students, staff, and faculty at the school.

In 2004 Dr. Eckhoff enrolled in veterinary school at Tuskegee University and became a class favorite as she helped class mates navigate through a terrain what was new and daunting to many of them. Summer breaks found her doing internships at veterinary clinics located in Las Vegas, NV; Fort Walton, FL; and Birmingham, AL. A most unique preceptorship was experienced he senior year at a mixed animal clinic in St. Augustine, FL. After graduating from veterinary school, she began working at Union City Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Atlanta, GA. In 2009 Dr. Eckhoff decided to move back home and joined the staff here at Red Mountain Animal Clinic. She soon became a member of our clinic family and a client favorite with her cheerful personality, intelligence, and commitment to quality patient care. Dr. BE is an integral part of the mentoring program at Red Mountain Animal Clinic where she is a regular spokesperson to youth in the Birmingham community about careers in veterinary medicine, healthy life styles, and life choices.

Dr. Eckhoff is an officer/member of the Jefferson County Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a member of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. BE holds licenses to practice in Alabama and Georgia. When it does not interfere with her time at Red Mountain she does relief work at the Ark Animal Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. BE has one boxer, NoNa, which is the love of her life. She is a true believer in fitness and demonstrates this by racing in half marathons, local races, and gym workouts. Dr. BE loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling to see her nephew play sports, and doing any outdoor activities.
